Helping Hands international Children’s Forum
Helping Hands international Children’s Forum also provides a platform for the young
people, and the teachers and mentors who champion their rights; we stimulate
debate and positive change to help address the inequalities facing children
around the world. Across a one week process,
Helping Hands international Children’s Forum brings together young people from communities
affected by humanitarian issues (such as natural disasters and poverty), with
young people from more stable backgrounds. They participate together in
artistic workshops led by experienced facilitators and actors, which leads to
the creation of a performance work. Under the guidance of facilitators, the young participants are also
supported to teach and lead each other’s, and encouraged to exchange ideas,
skills and work methods. Helping Hands international Children’s Forum provides young people with the opportunity to
express themselves and their culture. Participants are supported to discover
their own unique potential and value, which raises their confidence and
aspirations. By collaborating in an intercultural environment around a common
performance, participants develop their ability to communicate, learn to
understand differences and to celebrate common experience. This valuable and
exciting artistic process helps them to make steps towards positive
transformation in their own lives, and hopefully, in their communities in the
long-term.
